History of the Bros
We are a jet ski, sport boat, ATV service, sales, used and new parts company located in New Albany, IN and Corydon, IN. The two principle owners of the company, Jeff and Greg Mathes, have several years of experience in the service industry. Jeff’s background in the industry starts all the way back into the early 80’s where he began riding motorcycles. Everything from street to dirt bikes, nothing could keep him away from tinkering with his rides. Then in the early 90’s, he found his true passion for the water. He started with a small rinky-dink boat and worked his way up to a Supra ski boat. He has done more water-skiing in those years than most people have seen in their lifetimes. He loves boats, jet skis and the power sports industry.
Greg started his power sports industry career in the late 80’s with motorcycles and, at that time, 3-wheeler ATVs. Greg is way more of the gear head than a rider and spends most of his time covered in axel grease and oil as he gets his hands dirty tinkering with the tools he loves. That doesn't mean he won't take his creations for a spin, though!
Jeff and Greg might have opened Crank Powersports earlier in their careers, but their dream of being a part of the power sports industry would have to be put on hold to help run the family business. Jeff and Greg run a very successful Quarry operation, built up by their grandfather, in southern Indiana, which helped give them their strong construction background. You could say construction and repair run in their blood. In 2003, Jeff and Greg finally got their power sports dream started when they purchased a used set of jet ski’s: a Kawasaki and a Polaris. Just like most clients, they quickly learned that one of the two jet ski’s were in need of serious mechanical attention. After calling around to several dealerships, they found that most places had a 10 year old limit and none of them would even look at a Polaris. After Greg sat down and studied the problem, it he found that with his background in automotive and heavy equipment, he could handle the repairs needed to get the Polaris back up and running. After just his first jet ski repair, he found he had a knack for it and continued working on their jet ski’s and the jet ski's of their friends, until it started snowballing into a full time company.

We are not free of error and don’t claim to be perfect, but we stand behind our work and try to make sure every repair is the best it can be, or we will make it right. We have very good technical support and are willing to give professional advice whenever we can, even over the phone.
